Calgary, AB: Arts and Cultural Festivals Research and Recommendations As part of its role to provide advice to the City of Calgary on matters related to arts and culture, Calgary Arts Development has been engaged to conduct research to create a profile of festivals and community celebrations in Calgary. The purpose of this research is to look at festivals in a strategic manner that will allow Calgary to create the conditions for festivals to thrive. Measuring the Impacts of Large Scale Cultural Events: A Literature Review Floris Langen (University of Glasgow) and Beatriz Garcia (Impacts 08), May 2009. This paper offers an overview of studies measuring the various impacts of large scale cultural events. Fifty studies from both academic and consultancy backgrounds are assessed, with a focus on the methodologies used and the types of impact assessed.
